Massive landslide Blocks Sunkoshi River (Must Watch)


Nepal is a mountainous country. Landslides are mostly common here during the rainy season (June – September). A massive landslide blocked Sunkoshi river in northern Nepal about 120 kilometers, east of Katmandu in the Sindhupalchowk region this Saturday. The landslide was occurred around 3 o’clock morning. Causing the water  formed  a lake  and its  threate ning to burst out. 

The burst of mass water may sweep sweep several villages and cause a lot of human death. The dark and muddy water has completely stopped the flow of water and formed 2miles lengthy lake.Dozens of houses were  buried by the flood. At least 8 people have been killed by  Bhote Koshi river flood as per the ekantipur news.
The rain was also the next reason effecting weather conditions, but it stopped by mid morning, now the situation of weather has been Quite  improved. After the landslide The Arniko highway blocked and thousands of people were ordered to evacuate their homes and move  to the higher ground. Totally the Telephone and electricity lines are disrupted.  The radio stations are airing the warnings and police were using loudspeakers to aware the villagers from the flood. 
The government has announced the flood area  danger zone. Lamosaghu, Balefi, Sasaryaukharka,Khadichaur, Sukute Deurali, Dolalghat, Sasaryaukharka, Deurali & Birta reagons are in danger zone. BY May 2012 A landslide cause a flash flood that swept several downstream villages, kiling at least 26 people  blocking the Seti river in northwestern Nepal.
